situated in the small quiet village of Tanygrisiau, Snowdonia North

slate miners of
the area in the mid 1800's. Imagine these
cottages when the slate miners used to live in them.

Tanygrisiau is an
ideal location for exploring the region of Snowdonia. There is the
wonderful backdrop of the Moelwyn mountains. The cottage is nestled on
the lower slopes. Hill-walks and rock-climbs are on the doorstep.
Some local attractions include; award-winning Llechwedd Slate
Caverns
home to the world-famous Miners' Tramway. Also, the world's
oldest
narrow guage railway, and the Hydro-electric Power Station.
Many other
attractions and activity pursuits are easily
accessible by car within one half-hour drive. Go white-water rafting or
take your mountain bikes, cycles, canoes, kayaks,
hangliders, paragliders, and use the cottage as a base from which to
venture forth and enjoy these activities. The famous
Italianite village of Portmeirion where 'The Prisoner' series was
filmed is only a few miles away. The Ffestiniog Railway even has a
station near Portmeirion.

to make your stay comfortable. Some of the original features of the
cottage have been retained such as; exposed stone walls, wooden beams
and inglenook fireplace.
The cottage is
available all year round for holidays. Our prices
are set to reflect low season rates all
year round. Snowdonia looks
beautiful even in the winter time. During the winter months you can
appreciate after a day's recreation, the warmth and the glow of a real
log fire as you settle in for the evening with a bottle of your
favourite wine or beer.
