Tanygrisiau is a good location for local walks and rock climbs. Walk to a near-by Point of Confluence or follow the slate paths.

The region supports many adventure sports such as canoeing, mountain biking, family cycling, white-water rafting, abseiling, hill walking, navigation skills, gorge walking and canyoning and near the coast - windsurfing and surfing.

You can hire bikes locally.

For the less energetic there are some near-by places of interest to visit.

The award winning Llechwedd slate caverns (Blaenau Ffestiniog) should not be missed.

Take a train ride on the world's oldest narrow-gauge steam railway; soon to link up with the track from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. You will be able to travel 40 miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog to Caernarfon all on narrow-gauge track.

The UK's first pumped hydro-electric power station (Ffestiniog) and 'Electric Mountain' Dinorwig Power Station at Llanberis
